DMCA & Content Reporting Policy
Last updated: January 2024
1. Our Approach to Content Rights
Gaali Atlas India documents spoken and colloquial language — words and phrases that exist in the public domain of everyday speech across Indian languages. We do not claim copyright over the linguistic terms themselves. However, we take seriously any claim that our original editorial content (written descriptions, etymological research, or compiled data) has been used in violation of someone else's rights, or that someone else's protected work has been improperly reproduced on our Platform.
2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe content on Gaali Atlas India infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request. To be effective, your notice should include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
- Identification of the specific material on our Platform you claim is infringing, including the URL
- Your contact information (address, phone number, email)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
Submit your notice through our contact form, selecting "Other" as the submission type and including all required information above.
3. Reporting Other Content Issues
Beyond copyright, you can report content for other reasons using the "Report an Issue" button found on every gaali entry page. Common report categories include:
- Incorrect meaning or translation
- Wrong origin or etymology claim
- Missing or incorrect regional variants
- Outdated information
- Content that targets a real, identifiable individual
- Spam or fake entries
Reports are routed to our editorial team for review and do not require the formal elements of a DMCA notice.
4. Counter-Notification
If content you submitted was removed in response to a takedown notice and you believe this was done in error, you may submit a counter-notification through our contact form, including identification of the removed material and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
5. Repeat Infringer Policy
Since the Platform does not require user accounts, our repeat-infringer policy operates at the content level: submissions repeatedly found to violate intellectual property rights will be permanently rejected and the source pattern flagged for additional scrutiny on future submissions.
6. Response Time
We aim to review and respond to formal DMCA notices within 5–10 business days. General content reports are typically reviewed within 1–3 days as part of our standard moderation queue.
7. Contact
All DMCA notices, counter-notifications, and content reports should be submitted through our submission form.
